🌟 Pudsey Bear Sensory Play Challenge!

This week the children enjoyed a wonderfully messy, creative, and hands-on activity inspired by Pudsey Bear for Children in Need. Sensory play is always a favourite in our setting, and this invitation to play ticked so many developmental boxes while keeping the children fully engaged.

What We Did 🐻

Using a tough tray, we created a large Pudsey Bear outline using a smooth, tactile yellow sensory material. The children were then given a selection of loose-parts items including:

  • Colourful pom-poms
  • Buttons of different sizes
  • Easy-grip tweezers
  • Small trays and pots for sorting

The challenge?📈

To decorate Pudsey using the tools provided, explore textures, and place items along the outline and features of his face.

✨ Learning Through Play

Although it might look like simple fun (and it absolutely was!), the children were developing so many important skills:

  •  Sensory Exploration
  •  Fine Motor Development
  •  Creativity & Imagination
  • Communication & Language
  •  Problem-Solving

💛 Why Sensory Play Matters

Sensory activities like this support early brain development, emotional regulation, and confidence. They allow children to experiment freely, explore cause and effect, and enjoy learning at their own pace.A simple setup, but so much rich learning, book a visit with us today!
